Summary:
As a Private Duty Companion with Extended Hands, your primary role will be to provide companionship, emotional support, and assistance with non-medical tasks to our clients in their homes.
You will create meaningful connections with clients, engage in activities, and help maintain a safe and comfortable living environment.
This position requires empathy, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to improving the overall quality of life for those you serve.
Key
Responsibilities:
Companionship:
Engage in conversations, listen actively, and provide emotional support to clients, fostering a sense of companionship and well-being.
Recreational Activities:
Plan and participate in activities that align with the client's interests and abilities, promoting mental and emotional stimulation.
Mealtime Assistance:
Assist with meal preparation, serving, and cleaning up, ensuring that clients receive proper nutrition.
Household Tasks:
Perform light housekeeping duties such as tidying up, laundry, and organizing to maintain a safe and comfortable living space.
Errands and Shopping:
Assist with grocery shopping and running errands, as needed.
Transportation:
Provide transportation to medical appointments, social outings, and other events, if required.
Safety:
Ensure the client's home is free of hazards and report any concerns or issues promptly.
Documentation:
Maintain records of activities, tasks performed, and any changes in the client's condition.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Previous experience in caregiving, companionship, or a related field is preferred but not required.
Compassion, empathy, and a sincere desire to improve the lives of others.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Patience, understanding, and the ability to actively listen and engage with clients.
Reliability and punctuality.
Ability to adapt to different client needs and preferences.
Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license (if required).
